Notes from Nowhere - Chapter 5

This is Chapter 5 of the audiobook I am providing for paid subscribers. Here’s the link to Part 1. Let’s start with a baseline - What would a better world look like? That’s what I did with this story - from the apartment that I shared with my family in Honolulu during the lockdowns of 2020.

In this chapter, I introduce the idea of Mutual Nations. Instead of something like the United States, a group of countries or populations who form pacts of mutual aid and cooperation. I also start laying out the possible future of three hundred years from now which isn’t all utopia. We first learn about the RSA - the Republican States of America and the history of the world in brief from the 2020s onwards.

This is where my fortune telling begins “the three elections of the 2020s were the end of the United States. By the time of the sham election of 2028, Trump the First won 100% of the vote and the non-Republican states saw the writing on the wall” - or something like that. Even writing this in 2020, I knew Trump would return…and never leave.

Notes from Nowhere is a book I wrote in 2020. At the time, I thought that blockchain publishing might be the future of books, so I signed a contract with a Creatokia. The NFT art was created by my friend Femmebot.The money I made was all donated to the Hawaii Mutual Aid Society to help the victims of the devastating Lahaina Fires. Fun fact - this book - Notes from Nowhere was inspired by a book written in the 1890s called News from Nowhere by William Morris. Notes from Nowhere (this book) is the inspiration for several follow up stories I wrote and the recent anthology of stories Future World 2323 by a handful of really amazing fellow writers who joined me in defining the future. We ran a kickstarter for and will be sending out copies of Future World to those who backed soon.
