Why You Can't Turn Your Back on Money

For most of my life, if you’d have asked me something I hate, I would have easily responded with one word:

“MONEY”

I’m embarrassed by that. As a child, a teen, a young man - I frequently heard the refrain “Money is the root of all evil” and I simply accepted it as true.

It’s not. The root of all evil is something more like greed, the lust for power, the desire to control others, the urge to dominate. Money is a great tool for all of those things.

It’s also a great tool for helping others, building your dreams, and living your best life. I’ve done more than a few deep dives into money. I’ve poked among the ancient ruins of Sardis in Turkey where historians claim that money was born. I’ve read dozens of books on the development of money. You might even say that I’m a little obsessed with the concept of money.

It’s what got me into cryptocurrency. In 2007, an anthropology class on digital worlds led me to World of Warcraft and the idea of Chinese Gold Farmers turning digital money into real world money. From there I learned about bitcoin in 2009 but when I saw that Amazon was going to produce and electric coin called the Amazon Coin, I chose to put my money in that instead of in Bitcoin (and in that decision decided accidentally to not become ultra-wealthy). An Amazon coin is worth the same price it was then today and you can only use it on Amazon products. I bought Kindle books - or should I say, leased them since I can’t resell them.

Money is not the root of all evil and even if you could get rid of it, something else would take its place and soon be called a word that meant money. Here’s the bottom line on money - what you produce in this world may not be what the people who have what you need or want, need or want. Money gets us around that. Otherwise you would have your basket of apples and have to find a way to red paperclip your way to a sheet of drywall when the owner of that said that he was allergic to apples. Money solves that issue. It’s a low friction bartering tool.

So, unless you can move somewhere where you will never need to pay taxes, where you can produce everything you need, and where you don’t have to pay any sort of bills at all - you simply can’t turn your back on money.

Now - how can you get your hands on some life-changing wealth - read on to find out…

(this is where I put the paywall - but if you simply can’t afford to pay but need this information, subscribe and DM me, I’ll get you a free pass because paywalls suck)
